Synopsis:
Water Margin is a novel considered to be one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature in Ming and Ching Dynasty. The story is set in Song dynasty when the Emperor Song Fai Chung was ruling. The Emperor was not interested in governing country and the society was filled with injustice because of the corrupt government. The loyal and kind Lam Chung was tricked and framed by his best friend Luk Him who attempted to murder him. Lam almost died in a fire at a supply depot started by Luk’s henchmen. Lam Chung slayed his foes and abandoned the depot, eventually making his way to Liangshan Marsh, where he became an outlaw. Depicting how the main character Lam Chung combated Wind, Fire and Snow, the story is also a tale of how the common people rose up against the corrupted government hoping to seek justice. The story reflects the dark side of human nature and the sense of helplessness among Hong Kong people.
