In modern urban society, the values often prioritize “money-centric” thinking over a “people-centric” approach. It emphasizes constantly working to acquire wealth or achieve success, while disregarding personal feelings and inner thoughts. This leads to a sense of emptiness and loss of individuality, as if one’s existence is reduced to mere numbers or money. At the same time, leisure is devalued as a failure and subject to contempt, causing feelings of shame.
However, societal values cannot completely define an individual’s lifestyle. Perhaps this limitation stems not only from society but also from one’s own mindset. Can we transcend external pressures and choose a life that we truly enjoy?
